I've been having spring fever for awhile now so with the first day of Spring not far from our rear-view mirror, I couldn't be more thrilled to officially have an excuse to look at my closet and figure out what works for the upcoming season.  I don't subscribe to seasonal closets (meaning I don't have designated clothes per season, but rather utilize as most of my closet for the entire year as much as possible) which affords me the opportunity to leverage a lot of my tried and true pieces and add in some updates.  If you are looking to update your closet, I've compiled a list of my 'must-haves' for Spring.

Oh hey there! Remember me? It's OK if you don't; I fell off of the face of the earth for a solid 10 days.  I'd like to say that I had some brilliant excuse, a good story perhaps.  Sadly, I don't besides what all of our are plagued with these days and that is a packed schedule and a lack of an ability to prioritize (or maybe I prioritized and that's why this space fell off of my list).  Either way, I'm back.  Hopefully on a more regular posting schedule, but we'll see.



Now on to this outfit.  I wear a lot of dresses when it comes to work wear.  Honestly, they are kinda the lazy-woman's work outfit - easy, no thought required, but instantly chic & put together.  This dress is so reminiscent of Coco herself that I couldn't resist.  To up the homage to Chanel herself, I added this necklace which is reminds me of an amped up version of the more subtle camellia which was added to her collection because of her love of the flower and can still be intertwined in the newer collections.

When people ask me what is staple piece that I recommend to everyone to be a part of their wardrobe basics, I always say a trench coat.  Usually one of a more classic color than the one I'm wearing in these pictures, but ultimately, I spend the majority of the Spring and Fall in a good trench.  They are totally worth the investment and you can get a good one at a really decent price point.  I love my Banana Republic trenches, but if you are looking for the quintessential classic piece, you can't go wrong with Burberry.

It's that time of year in the Carolina's - Spring has officially sprung.  And with the official start of Spring on the calendar, along with the warming temps, I'm starting to get the itch to revamp some of my habits and start anew.

+ I started dry brushing.  So far, so good - I'll keep you posted on how it goes, but I'd recommend you give it a whirl if you are in the least bit intrigued.

+ I usually start my morning with a huge cup of coffee.  However, after reading about the benefits of hot lemon water first thing in the morning, I've starting gulping that down as the house is getting ready for the day.

+ I'm looking for a bit of a closet refresh - I am currently loving this & this & this (as seen on Becky) - apparently refresh to me means white.

+ I love a good skincare routine and though I am thinking of changing up some of it, I'm sticking by this tried and true.  I love the citrus scent.

+ Being a rule follower, I love the idea of implementing some house rules to live by.  I think that these are simple & very implementable and plan to do so ASAP in our household.
