Are you overwhelmed by the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale yet? Yeah, me too.  It's been a little aggressive out there.  Between the inundation on social media and blog posts, it's been a bit much.  And this from a devotee of Nordstrom.  So in an effort to cut through the noise and since the sale went public to all as of today, I thought I'd share with you my top finds for those who don't have time to watch try-on sessions or read post after post on it.

It's that time of year: the time of year where your feeds are filled with bloggers and their top picks for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  I get it.  It's annoying because it's all anyone can talk about.  Some of it is for a good reason because whether you are stocking up on tried & trues or splurging on a high end item - you can get them all at deep discounts which somewhat justifies the expenditures.  Today, I'm going to share with you what I'm eyeing (or have already purchased).

This year, I did all of my NSale shopping online.  It's quite unlike me to do that at Nordstrom, but my work schedule has a been a bit challenging so I decided to make life easy and order for try-on at home.  After getting my packages, I realized that I went a bit monochromatic this year (another thing that is very unlike me), but you know, I'm not mad about it.  To reinstate balance in the world, I picked up this sweater from JCrew.

So you are right, this picture is not a picture of me in fitting rooms or pictures of Nordstrom bags, but rather what I consider a must-have on any trip to Nordstrom.  I'm a big believer that shopping requires sustenance in the form of sweets and treats and Nordstrom's Lemon Ricotta cookie (they are found in their Cafe, not coffee shop) is so heavenly.  Besides, shopping is basically cardio so you are working it off anyway.

And speaking of cardio, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (#NSale) this year is oh-so-good.  I generally take advantage of the sale to either stock up on items that I already own and love or splurge on something that I would not have otherwise.  Last year I snagged a killer Burberry coat (shorter version available this year) and this year I haven't quite figured out what I'm angling for.

Unarguably my most favorite people to shop for are the little ones in our life.  It's so wonderful to take a step back in time to my childhood and share those items which I remember fondly with kids, but more importantly watching kids open their gifts is probably the MOST fun part of the season. Every gift is met with such enthusiasm and unbridled gratitude; it is so truly amazing and fulfilling to watch.  With that being said, I've rounded up some of my favorite items to gift to share with you!  Of those items, I look for fun things which might not be purchased regularly for them like fancy shoes, a silly stuffed animal, a learning toy that we love, brands with a conscious (fair warning, part of this toy doubles as a whistle - we learned this on a particularly long car trip), and, of course, we cannot forget the ever present Star Wars this holiday season.
