I almost didn't do a run down of the globes from last night. I still adore it, but it just wasn't really on my radar like it has been in the past years. Far be it from me to steer away from tradition, I simply couldn't pass up after I watched the show and saw all of the goodness. So without further ado, here are my golden goals.

#DressGoals

I am very much a star-print fan so perhaps I'm a bit biased, but I thought Emma's dress knocked it out of the park. Just enough sparkle, great neckline, simple, but enough oompf.

#CoupleGoals

I don't need to tell you why Blake & Ryan or Chrissy & John are couple goals. I'd also put Chrissy in the #peplumgoals category. I'm a sucker for a good peplum.

#AcceptanceSpeechGoals

I mean, seriously. Not only did she knock it out of the park, but I love the rings.

This is for all the women, women of color, and colorful people. Whose stories, ideas, thoughts are not always considered worthy and valid and important. But I want you to know that I see you; we see you. It is an honor to be on this show, Black-ish. To continue expanding the way we are seen and known. And to show the magic and the beauty and the sameness of a story and stories that are outside of where the industry usually looks.

Comeon KBell. You rocked this look. I don't know how much double-sided tape was needed, but it was well worth it.

I'm looking forward to reading her book, but I think it's safe to say that no one is asking Anna to buy her own pieces for red carpet appearances anymore.

+ John Legend's place card was misspelled and Chrissy's reaction was hysterical (Oh and the fact that she sat for her red carpet interview - girl after my own heart.)

+ Meryl used her place of influence to speak about issues affecting our nation that we all should take heed about.

+ Ryan Gosling made us fall in love all over again with him.

+ Speaking of Gosling, did you catch the PDA between Ryan Reynolds & Andrew Garfield after Reynolds lost to Gosling?

Happy Monday party people! Last night the stars walked the red carpet outside of the Beverly Hilton hotel, champagne pour liked water from inside the ballroom, and I watched from my super comfy warm bed to take in the fashion and the hilarity that can only ensue when stars are force fed that much champagne. Today, I've rounded up some of my faves, as well as some of my thoughts on what was good, what was not so good, and what I was a indifferent to.

Some of the hands-down winners of the night:

Apparently last night was all about the plunging necklines and four of these ladies did it flawlessly. Kirsten Dunst's straight-from-the-runway look was one of my favorites (though I'm not such a fan of her acting); Jamie Alexander's jewel tones & pockets were amazing; Jenna's stunning navy and silver - I just die; and last, but certainly not least, Olivia Wilde - the woman just had a baby and she looks tremendous. And then JLaw - this girl can do no wrong in my book. I also love a red look on the red carpet.

A little bit of this & a little bit of that:

Alicia Vikander in Vuitton: I have to admit, at first this apron front number didn't do much for me, but as the night went on and the sparkly piping caught my eye, I got a little more into it. Plus the ruffles - apparently I'm a sucker for all things girlie.

Bryce Dallas Howard in Jenny Packham: What made this dress so 'unique' by Hollywood standards is that not only did Bryce purchase it (most gowns are gifted or borrowed), but she purchased it off-the-rack at Neiman Marcus. Though the price tag of a Jenny Packham dress might not sit well in our wallets and obviously being a starlet has its financial perks, I loved the look and the fact that she openly spoke about it, especially as it pertained to her sizing. Apparently there aren't a lot of options for a size 6 gal in the land out haute couture.

JLo in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture: I'm about to say something that might not be so popular - I seriously disliked the color of this frock. It seemed like everyone lost.their.mind. and yes, JLo looks stunning, but I wish she would have done a different color for sure.

Brie Larson in Calvin Klein: From my social media feeds, everyone either loved or hated this look. I fell to the side of love. Sure, it was a little disco-y and perhaps even a little Princess Leia, but she rocked it and I'm a sucker for gold beading.

Malin Akerman in Reem Acra: Malin didn't get a ton of air time or praise for this dress, but I think it was one of the unsung heros of the night. The detailing, the proportions, the peplum - it was just so right.

Rachel McAdams in Lavin: It's not secret that I am a fan of Rachel's style and at first I was worried that a print might come off a little Jessica McClintock on the red carpet, but I loved the end result. It's very rare you see a print done right (remember Kim K at the Met Gala circa 2013? ouch.) and Rachel slayed.

An honorable mention and men:

Jamie Foxx's daughter, Corinne was stunning as Miss Golden Globe last night and to hear her father sing her praises was just so sweet.

And last, but certainly not least, the men. Generally they are the ones that fall to the background with all of the glitzy gowns, but Rob Lowe (which I need both his skincare routine and his plastic surgeon details), Ryan Gosling, and The Rock totally stood apart from the crowd.
