Brussel sprouts get a bad rap. Even as a child, the word brussel would send my sister and I running for the hills. Now a few years older and a smidgen wiser, I actually really like brussel sprouts. When I was visiting Chicago earlier this year, I had a dish that combined pretty much magic in a bowl: brussel spouts, applewood smoked bacon, and brie. I knew that I had to re-create it at home.
Ingredients:
1 container of Brussel Sprouts
1 large wheel of Brie
4 pieces of Applewood Smoked Bacon
Directions:
Cook bacon in a pan and set aside 1 tablespoon of bacon grease. Add brussel sprouts to the pan and sautee for a minute or two. Remove from heat and add crumbled bacon, a few slices of brie (I use 4-5), 1 tablespoon of bacon grease and brussel sprouts and bake for 10 minutes at 375.
