I figured it had been awhile since I did one of these posts.....
Awkward
- Labor & Delivery I am not one of those women who is going to wax poetic about the labor and delivery process. For me, it was a means to an end. I am so thankful that my labor and delivery went smoothly (albeit long) and that the end product was our fabulous, healthy son; however, I would have been more happy if I had been knocked out and woken up to a baby as well.
- Recovery I'm not going to get into the details, but I wish someone had warned me how physically difficult the first few weeks after delivery were. That coupled with a serious lack of sleep...let's just say it was special.
- Post Baby Body I'm also lucky that I didn't gain an excessive amount of weight during the pregnancy, but still...what the what is up with my body right now?!
- Walks with a dog and a baby One ADD dog and a baby...whew, what a work out and exercise in futility. I'll get the hang of it.
Awesome
- Duke Labor & Delivery Nurses As awkward as labor & delivery is, the nurses who we worked with were beyond words. They made the experience for us - I could not thank them enough.
- Belly Bandit My advice to any woman who is going to have a baby - invest in this. It is AH.MAY.ZING.
- Baby sneezes, hiccups, and general small, cute body parts Seriously it never gets old.
- Rediscovering my wardrobe & finally being able to wear it again It's like I have a whole new playground to play in....oh the limitless possibilities and the shoe closet!!!!
- Listening to Hubs and Peanuts nighttime routine It includes Hubs singing "Shook Me All Night Long" and Peanut cooing. It makes my heart melt every night.
- Baby Lashes & Cherub cheeks I'm just sayin'
