I'm the first person to say that I play a little fast and loose with my use of sequins.  I'm basically the equivalent to this when it comes to being instantly derailed by a flash of sparkle.  With that being said, I'm a huge fan of rocking sequins day or night.  When I missed out on this dress during the end of year sale last year at JCrew, I was bummed; but thankfully eBay to the rescue.  If you are going to wear sequins during the day, I find the key is to pair them with more casual pieces (a great utility jacket or super chic kicks, for example).  The great news is that it can easily dress up or you could wear it as is for an evening event (quickly upping your cool factor).
