You've probably seen this making the rounds; but since the wonderful Nikki and Lexi tagged me and it's my birthday and aren't birthday, at their very least, a little indulgent, I thought what the heck?!

1 // I have no sides to my big toenails.  When I was dancing en pointe for years, I had them removed to avoid painful ingrown toenails, which I would dance on anyway.  They actually look like normal toenails now but they certainly confuse the manicurists at my nail salon.

2 // I cry when people sing 'Happy Birthday' to me.  I wish I could say that it's because I am so overcome my emotion, but really it's a reflex that I've had for quite some time.  I'm not really sure why but it's inevitable and unstoppable...and really really weird.

3 // Being a mother is one of the most challenging and rewarding things that I have ever done.  It's easy to get tied up in the enormity of being responsible for a human being and the potential of messing them up.  And there are days that I feel like a complete failure.  But Peanut's simply a joy and is utterly wonderful to be around.  The most important thing that I've learned in the past year is to cut yourself some slack, laugh at the imperfection, tomorrow is a new day and there are very few things a cup of coffee or glass of wine cannot fix.

4 // Because of the NCAA Basketball Championship Game, I was almost born in a car.  In my father's defense, the doctors had told my mother earlier in the day that she was having false contractions, but the running joke in my family is that my father wanted to finish the basketball game.  For the record, NCState won and I was not born in a car.

5 // I have a very serious fear of eyeballs.  For example, in college when we dissected a cadaver, I could do the whole body without a problem, except the eyeballs.  I can't touch my eyes, wear contacts, or put in eyedrops without the help of someone.  I fear the day that Peanut gets Pink Eye.

Instead of tagging people, I'd love for you to share some things about you in the comments section! So what are your five?
And in honor of my birthday, I'm giving away a brand-spankin'-new copy of Kate Spade's "Things We Love" coffee table book.  Entries start today and end on 12 April 2013.  Just follow the instructions below!

Hope you & yours have a lovely weekend!
