Guest Post: Love Lipstick and Pearls

2/20/2012

Today, Kristen has been so fabulous as to fill in for me while I'm adjusting to motherhood.  You might be familiar with Kristen if you've followed this blog for awhile as she was awesome and did me the same favor when I was out of the country this past fall.  If you haven't, go (immediately after reading the below) to her blog.  She has a fantastic sense of style and is super fun to follow.  Thanks again Kristen!

Hi Everyone! I'm Kristen from Love, Lipstick, and Pearls and so happy to be guest posting for Chelsea again! She's just the cutest and has the best sense of style. Congratulations again sister! I'm so super happy for you and baby Liam is just a doll. So, for my post I wanted to do some updated ideas for the accent nail. I'm seriously in love with this look and have been rocking it for like 2 years now. I do it with almost every mani. However, I'm kind of getting bored with it and want some new ways to mix it up for this spring/summer. So where else to look for inspiration than Pinterest?
I love just adding an extra nail as an accent. The thumb or middle finger would be so cute instead of just the standard ring finger accent.
You could always just switch the one nail you paint to another finger, any finger would look cute and new. I've seen the pinky finger done by itself and loved the look.
Doing a print on just one nail is fabulous! Stripes, polka dots, etc. Using leftover Sally Hansen Salon Effects would make it so easy! I'm definitely going to be mixing up my mani this year. Changing your nails is such an easy makeover and gives you instant gratification.
