So Long Sweet Summer

9/08/2011

[Vouliagemni, Greece circa 2009]

I find myself OK with summer coming to a close.  At the beginning of the season, I'm always so anxious for time at the beach, fireworks, yummy summer cocktails, and time spent with family and friends.  All of which I enjoyed (with the exception of yummy summer cocktails), but I am growing weary of the summer weather and anxious for the fall and what it has to hold.  Fall Hokie Football, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, leaf changes, fantastic weather, fall fashion, Halloween, Thanksgiving..the list goes on and on.  In an effort to document my Fall goals and hold myself accountable for them, I thought I'd share with you fantastic folks.

* Clean out study (September)

* Complete Nursery (October)

* Finish Thank-you gifts for parents (from the wedding-yes; I've been married for two years-it's shameful).

* Clean wedding dress (yes, see above.  But since I am convinced that if we ever have a daughter, she will never want to wear my wedding gown, I've decided to use the fabric and make it into a christening gown for Baby Mac).

* Paint down stairs (Just one accent wall back to neutral)

* Make house baby-friendly (This includes re-arranging the downstairs. oy.freakin'.vey.)

* Select Daycare (September)

* Decide/Agree upon Baby name with Hubs (prep yourselves for World War 3)

* Continue my newly adapted work-out regime (prenatal yoga and lots of safe cardio, along with light toning) at least 3 times a week.

I think those are some pretty hefty goals, if you ask me.  I'll be checking back with you folks every so often with updates.  Do you set monthly/quarterly goals for yourself? Any recommendations as to how to keep me motivated to keep up?
