Kim K's Wedding Dresses by Vera Wang

8/25/2011

I don't usually post twice in one day, but I figured that the sketches of Kim Kardashian's wedding dresses from Vera Wang warranted a second post. I'm sure everyone is a little over-inundated by the PR machine that is the Kardashian Clan, but as mentioned before, I'm a sucker for weddings...and Vera Wang.

Kim's first dress that she wore down the aisle was a ball-gown with full tulle skirt, basque waist and hand-pieced Chantilly lace applique on the bodice and train.  For accessories, she wore a Lorraine Schwartz headpiece (who also designed the bride and groom's rings), a cathedral-length veil with Chantilly lace applique at the hem and a lightly shirred blusher layer.

Her other two dresses were more similar to each other than the first.  For their first dance as husband and wife, Kim wore a Georgette mermaid dress with hand-pieced Chantilly lace applique on the bodice.  Are we seeing a trend? The skirt had hand-cut organza petals intermixed with Chantilly lace motifs and organza spring embroidery.  Her last dress of the evening was more simple bias-cut crepe-back satin gown with v-neck and circle skirt.

While the Kardashian-Humphries nuptials weren't exactly my style, I do think that the dresses are gorgeous and definitely fit Kim's style.  If only Vera Wang were a close, personal family friend of mine.
