I like to consider myself the best of both worlds: born and bred in Virginia, but a Carolina girl at heart. Virginia will always hold a special place in my heart for a multitude of reasons. Most importantly, it's where my Alma Mater is located (GO HOKIES!), where Hubs and I met, and where so many of our wonderful and fabulous friends and family members are located. I can't ever quite describe the feeling that I get every time I enter the state of Virginia.
This year for our anniversary Hubs found quite possibly the perfect gift, a necklace in the shape of the state of Virginia with a heart over Blacksburg, where we met. The original design had the heart in the center of the state, but the designer custom made a necklace with the heart placed over the city that Hubs and I met in. The designer makes all sort of state and country necklaces, available on Etsy. I absolutely adore this necklace and get so many compliments on it every time I wear it. Score one for Hubs and for Etsy.

This post made me melt. I've just recently discovered your blog and love it. I, too, hail from Virginia. I moved to Raleigh when I was 21. Besides this brief stint in Savannah for family matters, I am DEFINITELY a Carolina girl as well. BUT I will always have soft spot for 'ole Virginny. :)
