uncommon gifting

If you've read the profile that HoneeBee Gifts did on me, then you already know how big I'm into unique gifts.  I'm always on the look out for something that sets whatever I am gifting apart, but is meaningful and something that the recipient will love.  I've been shopping at Uncommon Goods for awhile and it is one of the first places I go when I am looking for something.  They literally have ANYTHING that you could possibly be looking for; from jewelry to home decor to fun for kids.  And since we are exactly halfway to Christmas (gasp.) You might want to start getting a jump on at least figuring out what to get those people who have made your nice list this year.

For your sister who deserves something as one-of-a-kind as she is: a year of wishes to put all of the good juju out there into the world while providing a pretty piece of decor for her home and a conversation starter when guests visit.  If home decor isn't her thing, check out a piece of jewelry that speaks to her uniqueness.

For your co-worker, turned fried who shares your penchant for a good laugh & just got a promotion: because if we are really being honest with ourselves, we've all dropped the F-Bomb at least under a breath a time or two at work.  Just don't drop it in front of your boss.

For your sentimental husband who wants to be reminded of where it all began: cufflinks with the latitude and longitude of a special spot; whether it be where you first met, a special vacation, the locale of the place you wed, or the site of the hospital that your child was born, these are beautiful every-day pieces that can be worn to work and provide a daily reminder of a happy place.

For your mother (or mother-in-law) who are very particular about gifts: a classic, but unique piece that she can wear everyday or layer for special occasions.  Dalmatian Jasper is such a cool and different stone, it's definitely a conversation starter.  (Another hint, their selection of earrings are just as drool-worthy)

For that guy in your life who loves a good ball game:  a piece of art that can hang in his office or sports room that is an homage to the house that his favorite sports team built.

For your crazy uncle who fancies himself America's Top Chef: a sampling of unique salts guaranteed to up his cooking game.

For your new neighbors who love a good beer (you can even fill it with local brews): nothing says welcome to the neighborhood like a friendly beer.

For the design buff in your life: an art-deco inspired light toggle that is a nod to the golden age of design.

For your girlfriend and stead-fast happy hour buddy who will always share a margarita & chips & salsa with you: some supplies to take your happy-hours from the heels & busy bars to your home, comfy clothes, and full reign of the TV.

For the kid who dreams about things which are out of this world: a celestial mobile to learn the planets (and Pluto isn't extra).
