Snow Day

Dressing for the snow is tricky for me.  There's the fact that the snowfall in North Carolina is usually negative and my wardrobe mostly reflects that fact.  There's also this tricky business of layering just the right amount so that I don't end up sweating like a whore in church glistening once I duck inside for one reason or another.  And then there's my hair that turns to an instant poof anytime a mere speck of water gets anywhere in its vicinity.  Needless to say, when it snows, it's like walking through a field of wardrobe and hair malfunction land mines.  Basically my go-to for inclement weather begins and ends with my Hunter Boots and a high bun and everything else I just roll with.

And while we are on the topic of must-haves, I thought I'd take a moment to address the jeans.  I've always been a big advocate of investing in jeans.  However, last years, I decided to take a second look at Gap's Always Skinny Jeans.  They have turned out to be a staple in my closet: great quality, hold their structure, super comfortable, and at a fantastic price point.  Plus, they fit great under boots, which is always an added bonus in my book.
