Fall Best Trends

8/25/2011

1. Capes and Ponchos: I wish I could rock this look, but at the moment, I'm concerned that a pregnant belly will only make me look bigger underneath a cape.  I love the above cape from Express.  It's affordable, a great length, and in a classic color.

2. Bold Colors: Red is turning out to be the power color of the Fall months.  Try it out as a full on monochromatic ensemble or if that's too bold for your taste, try a shirt or accessory.

3.  Stacked Heels and Loafer Heels: This girlie take on a classic loafer is a great trend this fall.  There a ton of super cute styles out there in a variety of price ranges.

4.  Midi Length - Asos has a ton of great option for this in their collection.  I love the above with pleats.  It adds a great detail to an otherwise very simple dress.

5.  Bow Blouse: These billowy, silky confections are fantastic from the office to a night out.  I think I'll be picking several of these pieces up this season.

6.  The Skinny:  J'adore skinny jeans and J Brand makes a perfect pair in a variety of colors.  For the more adventurous you can try J Brand skinnies in a variety of bold and fun colors.

7.  Chocolate Metals: Refer to this post from earlier this week. I love it.

8.  Faux Fur: I love the integration of the fur vest (faux or otherwise) into wardrobes this fall.  Vince Camuto's option above is not only affordable, but of a great quality.  If you are going to go with a faux fur variety over real fur, a word of caution: cheap faux fur looks, well...cheap.  It's worth investing a little more in a higher quality faux fur than settling for a cheaper option.

9.  Leather Sportswear: Specifically, I'm loving the Moto jacket that's been popping up at several stores already.  If you aren't ready to fully commit to a more expensive real leather jacket, check out Express.  They have a ton of (Minus the) Leather jackets that are really great.
