NYC Library announced that the Berg Fashion Library, one of the most popular fashion resources and a library coveted by many, will be available online to anyone with a NYC Public Library Card. Prior to this designers had to pay thousands of dollars for access to this library that was a history of anything and everything fashion.    Now designers can access this online to get inspiration on anything from a piece that is only a glimmer in their imagination to their designs for their next collection.  I am sure that there are many pros and cons to allowing such a large index of information to be available to the general public; however, I think that it is a fantastic use of resources and I think will enable current designers to expand their creativity, as well as allow for new designers to develop and grow.

Now if only I could figure out how to get my hands on a NYC library card!
